North American Security & Prosperity

The North American Security and Prosperity Partnership is a trilateral initiative between the governments of Canada, Mexico and the United States.  It is comprised of approximately 300 separate initiatives and activities, of varying priority levels.  The purpose of the Partnership is to ensure continuing prosperity of the three countries while increasing their security profiles for the benefit of all citizens.

Of primary interest to our sector are the initiatives surrounding food safety in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector and those concerning increased security at the Canada/US border.  CPMA participates in the Canada Border Services Agency’s Border Commercial Consultative Committee and works with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency on food safety initiatives.
