CPMA’s annual Produce Champion award is presented to one or more Members of Parliament and/or Senators who have demonstrated outstanding support for Canada’s fresh produce industry and have been effective in bringing industry priorities to the forefront on Parliament Hill.
The Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) is pleased to recognize the Honourable Heath MacDonald, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, as its 2026 Produce Champion.
Since assuming his role as Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food in 2025, Minister MacDonald has been a strong advocate for Canada’s fresh produce industry. Through his engagement with the sector and his commitment to addressing key industry priorities, he has demonstrated a clear understanding of the role the fresh produce industry plays in Canada’s economy, food security, and the health of Canadians.
CPMA looks forward to continuing to work with Minister MacDonald to advance policies and initiatives that strengthen Canada’s fresh produce industry and support growers, shippers, distributors, retailers, and consumers across Canada.
