Some of CPMA's advocacy success stories include:
- Introduction and adoption of Bill C-280, the Financial Protection for Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Farmers Act, by the House of Commons after decades of advocacy. Bill C-280 aims to establish a deemed trust, a vital financial protection mechanism for fresh produce sellers in Canada.
- The Government taking into consideration CPMA’s recommendations such as including the National Supply Chain Strategy in Budget 2023, extending measures that allow increased access to temporary foreign workers to ease labour shortage within the industry, and more.
- Development of the Canadian Grocery Code of Conduct in collaboration with industry partners.
